I CANNOT WAIT to see him host a tv show! Matt is such an engaging person, and such a wonderful speaker! He is going to be so good at this!

got my DVD recorder set to tomorrow morning at 10am,never set dvd to recorder yet, hope it works, but im glad your gonna post the show on this site so I can see it if my recording fails. Glad Kl is off tomorrow, so Matt wont have to put up with her antics, she can be cocky at times. I know Matt will do a great job. Glad to see we have a start date for season 3.

    3. Mary says:

Have the DVR set for tomorrow. Can’t wait as it will be a long time before he’s back on a regular basis.

      Hey Kelly,
a big hug from all of us not in USA, for posting video links/ recording the program clips. i wouldn’t have been able to see half of Matt’s TV appearances, if it weren’t for you 🙂

Just got through watching Matt on the today show, what an excellent job he did for his first time co-hosting. I cant beleive he finally revealed that he has THREE KIDS…WHAT A SHOCKER he usually doent talk about his personal life.

Just got through watching Matt on the Today Show, what an excellent job he did co-hosting for the first time. I finally got to hear a cooking segment without Kathie Lee talking over it or making faces on foods she doesnt like. One shocker was when Matt revealed that he has THREE KIDS…he usualy doesnt talk about his personal life , he said hi too them and threw them a kiss, that was so sweet.

    7. Trish says:

I can’t wait to see this when I get home! My DVR better have worked!

I’m thrilled to hear him finally mention the kids officially. Guess he wanted to brag about them the way Tim does and now he’s free to do so.

Is he perhaps testing the waters to join twitter after he sees what reaction this announcement gets? I noticed that several of the USA shows have had people join twitter in the past week. (like Dule Hill and someone from Fairly Legal).

    8. Suzanne says:

I thought it was a great show and I never usually watch it so I did not know what to expect; I knew with Matt being a part of it, I would not be disappointed. He was his humble self when talking about Tim DeKay but still playful when discussing with Hoda the results of the contest in which she and her regular co-worker were participants. Just a great job-and of course, I loved the pool table scene.
Thanks to you, Kelly for giving us a heads-up on Matt’s appearance today; I would have missed it for sure.

    9. Lynda says:

I’m excited to see it when I get home. I just wish that him saying hi to his kids didn’t result in the “is he” or “isn’t he” ignorant chatter on Facebook. Sheesh – one person even claims that you can’t have biological kids if you’re gay. Guess they’ve never heard of science or surrogate Moms – or adoption for that matter. Its this kind of bull that makes me hope he’ll stay off of Twitter. There’s just so much hate and ugliness out there.

    10. Queuey says:

Trish, I had the exact same thoughts, both about Matt wanting to talk about his kids like Tim and testing the waters. I’m happy for him anyway:).

    11. Trish says:

My first thought was, “So how old is his girl, and does he believe in arranged marriages? I got a 6 year old boy and I’d be very happy to have Matt as a FIL” (tongue firmly in cheek..and kidding!)

    12. Sab says:

I know Kelly’s going to upload all Matt’s clips for us when she gets a chance, but in the meantime, there’s a 10 minute clip at the link.

Matt was great, really natural and funny.

I did notice that Matt seemed a bit uncomfortable when Tim’s kids were mentioned when he and Tim were on this show together recently, but Matt didn’t get a chance to mention his. I think part of the reason for this mention today was him putting that right, making sure they got their shout out too.

The upside to him being more open about his family life would be that it would certainly help to address a lot of the ignorance out there, but of course when/if Matt wants to do that is totally up to him. I haven’t seen him put a foot wrong yet; he always acts with such good intentions and integrity, I have total faith in him.

    13. Trish says:

      Sab-
Here I thought I was the only one to catch that wistful look on Matt’s face the last time Tim brought up his kids on the Today Show. Like it was on the tip of his tongue to say something, but the timing wasn’t quite right or he didn’t clear it with the family first.

To me, it doesn’t matter, it thrills me that he has someone to love at home, and keep him balanced. Kids are great for keeping you humble and grounded!

    14. Mary says:

He and his partner have 3 boys: a 5 year old and a set of twin boys, age 3 years. It was wonderful to hear him say,’hi’ to them. They came by way of surrogate. Doesn’t matter, they are his since he is there for them and loves them as only a father can. I’m an adopted child and it really makes no difference, biological/adopted, when it comes to loving a child. At the very least, it shouldn’t.

The rest of his private life is just that, private! I hope he does not get on Twitter because there is so much ignorance and hate out there and I wouldn’t want to see him hit by that crap storm as he does not deserve any part of that ugliness. Sorry, protective much!

    15. Trish says:

      Thanks for the clarification Mary!

He’s happy, that’s the bottom line, right?

    16. Queuey says:

Sab, I agree with your entire comment:). I too think he was uncomfortable, maybe even upset when he couldn’t talk like Tim and I hope he gets to the point where he can say exactly as much as he wants to, no more and no less:).

    17. Kelly says:

I think it’s wonderful that Matt opened up and talked about his kids. However, he still likes to keep most of his personal life private. When discussing this, please make sure your comments aren’t getting too personal and do not mention any names other than the children’s. If and when Matt decides to reveal more about his personal life, I won’t be as cautious about the comments. I did not approve some that were submitted. Hope you understand where I am coming from. Thanks.

    18. Judy says:

Although I do not watch talk shows, I did dvr it just because he was there. I was excited to hear him mention his kids….he was so proud. You did a great job Matt. Keep your chin held high…you deserve it!

    19. clichejuice says:

Agreed. I would let Matt take the lead about how much he wants to share about his private life and abide by it. Nothing to it. simple as that.

    20. Janine says:

We just need to continue to support Matt. I was really surprised that he mentioned his kids finally, but hopefully it will all be good for him. :). He did a great job co-hosting, and looked gorgeous as always! He’s always so cool. xxx

    21. Mary says:

Loving the videos and awaiting the captures. I watched and used my DVR and am still watching on this site. Nice to type to folks who feel the same, Matt is a great host and gracious as well.
