The Late Late Show with James Corden

    Written by Luciana

Matt visited last night the Late Late Show with James Corden, as part of the AHS:Hotel promotional tour, and gave one of the most fun interviews ever. He’s usually a nice and easy person to interview – we can find him actually chatting with everyone while being questioned – and with Corden being a very entertaining person, well… you can imagine.

I’ve uploaded five clips from the show – that also had the beautiful Cindy Crawford as guest as well – plus screencaptures. Have fun!

‘AHS: Hotel’ Postmortem: Matt Bomer Interview to Yahoo

    Written by Luciana

Matt gave a very nice interview to Yahoo! about the last American Horror Story: Hotel episode and its implications on the current season. Check it:

Obviously you had that memorable death scene in your undies last season and worked with Ryan Murphy on The Normal Heart. How did it come about that you would return to AHS and in a much bigger capacity?
I reached out to him after I had done that cameo in Freak Show. I told him I had a great time and he asked me if I wanted to come on board next season. I am a huge fan of the franchise and had greatly enjoyed working with Ryan over the years so when he proffered that, I immediately accepted. Since then, the season has gone through many incarnations and has added lots of new people to the cast. But I already know I can trust him, so I knew they would give me something fun to chew on no matter what. Part of the fun of working with Ryan is seeing what they come up with. It is never boring.

I had heard that the first episode’s foursome was the first scene you shot for Hotel.
Actually that is completely false. I didn’t do that scene until about two months into filming. A lot of filming for me has been non-sequential because we were waiting on Ms. Gaga’s schedule to free up. I actually did a lot more of the third episode before we even got to the first.

Matt On Fatherhood, Lady Gaga, and Those Pesky Penis Socks

    Written by Luciana

Matt gave an interview to Details magazine, published this Monday (6), to promote American Horror Story. He talks about Stefani (Lady Gaga, for us!), fatherhood, the gay scene in Hollywood and more. Check some excerpts:

DETAILS: Your haircut in the show is pretty spiffy. What made you go with that?
It was very important for the character to have a haircut that was of the time. The Countess gets bored very easily so you always have to keep her satisfied and engaged, and you have to be up to speed with the latest trends. It’s not quite a mullet, it’s more of a variation of that Prohibition Era, ’30’s styled hair.

DETAILS: How is fatherhood? You’ve got three sons, right?
Yup, it’s great. It’s the greatest gift I’ve ever been given. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever been thrown. It’s something that keeps both of us [he and his husband Simon Halls] on our toes every day, especially with three boys, but it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me.
DETAILS: Are you going to have some more kids? Maybe a little girl?
Honestly, given my work schedule and having three boys and all that entails in terms of getting them to school and practices and playdates on time, I think it would be highly, highly ambitious of me and maybe not entirely level headed to take on another child at this particular time.

DETAILS: Lastly, what do you think of the status of openly gay actors in Hollywood today?
I think it’s great. It’s amazing what I’ve seen happen, especially in the past five years. There is a generation growing up now that blows my mind in terms of the equanimity that they bring to every conversation that I have with them and every situation that I’m in with them. There’s an entire generation of artists coming up who don’t really care what your personal life is. They want to know what you’re going to bring to the material. So, I’m very optimistic and hopeful when it comes to the future.

Matt Bomer: ‘It Was Great to Share’ Emmy Nomination News With Husband Simon

    Written by Kelly

After dropping upwards of 40 pounds for his role in “The Normal Heart,” it’s all about love and family right now for Matt Bomer.

Bomer, 36, was “blown away and just so grateful” when his name was announced today as an Emmy Award nominee for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Felix in the HBO adaptation of Larry Kramer’s 1985 play about the onset of the HIV-AIDS crisis among the gay population in New York City.

After the “White Collar” star dropped to an astonishing 130 pounds for the role to show how the disease can ravage the human body — which meant shedding the chiseled features he usually shows off in his hit TV show or movies like “Magic Mike.”

Even though it was a long, difficult road to this apex point — Bomer said all the hard work culminated in one call this morning from his husband Simon Halls.

“I’m in New York and was getting ready to go to work on ‘White Collar.’ I got a phone call from my husband and he shared the news with me,” Bomer said. “It was so great to get to share that moment with him, because I had to separate myself from my family for a while to play this role. I’m sure when I was 130 pounds, I wasn’t always in the best mood, so it was nice to get to share a happy moment with him.”

At first, Bomer admitted he couldn’t even grasp the gravity of an Emmy nomination.

“I couldn’t even speak for the first minute,” he said. “I was overcome with gratitude, just the moment was so profound for me. I’ve been working in TV for 13 years and to have this moment, I was completely overwhelmed and had to collect myself for a bit. Simon knew firsthand how hard I worked on this role, how much we put into it, myself as an actor, and us collectively as a family. it was just really great to get to share that moment with him.”
