You might know Matt Bomer as the star of hit TV show, White Collar, or you could recognize him from his stripper scenes alongside Channing Tatum in Magic Mike, OR you might not have a CLUE who this man is, but his piercing blue eyes told you to look! See, that’s the thing – Matt Bomer is one helluva hottie. His TV show White Collar isn’t just about the eye candy though, oh no! It’s a gripping TV show about he life of a conman-turned-FBI consultant Neal Caffrey. Find out what Matt has to say about the show, Magic Mike, his sex symbol status and what it’s like to work with Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell.

Matt Bomer on… Working on Magic Mike
It was fantastic. It was like getting to be in a fraternity, which I never got to do in college so it was like entering into an endeavour that was quite intimidating (laughs) but everyone bonded together and we all stayed after our scenes were done to watch and support everyone else. It was one of the greatest ensemble experiences of my career thus far.

I am so grateful that people responded that way to the film, Channing’s story and Matt’s role, all the guys actually but when I signed on I thought it was a really small independent film that would be a small gritty story that Steven Soderburgh was directing and then it became something very different which is amazing and completely surprising. I’m so glad that Channing decided to tell the story and I got to be a part of it.

Matt Bomer on… taking his top off
Fear is a great motivator, so I just remember that at some point they’re going to call action and I’m going to be scantily clad and going to be held accountable for it so fear motivates me to go work out. It depends on the character, I don’t want every role to be somebody who’s doffing their shirt!

Matt Bomer on… being described as a sex symbol
I’ve never taken the time to really process that, I’m certainly grateful for the response but I guess like any human being I see the flaws as opposed to anything else. I sort of just try to play whatever role I’m asked to do and do it to the best of my ability and the rest of the stuff is out of my control!

Probably the fact that even after five years I still look forward to coming to work in the morning, chomping at the bit to come in and get filming, not only on a creative side of things but also the people I work with who are amazing and who I learn from everyday.

Matt Bomer on… his character’s suave wardrobe
I think in terms of this character it was important, if you’re going to be operating in the upper classes of society then how you dress effects how seriously you are taken by the people you are dealing with. Also, it was all the brainchild of Jeff Eastin with the strong influence of the Rat Pack but I’ve also been allowed to bring in some of the style icons from the 50s and 60s.

Matt Bomer on… working with Kelly Kapowski from Saved by the Bell (ZOMG!)
Tiffani Thiessen is fantastic, she’s the seasoned veteran and has seen it all, between that and 90210 in terms of TV she’s seen it all go down. She’s always a great voice of reason and somebody who just comes in and knows how to get the job done and a lovely person to boot.

Matt Bomer on… being all famous
Oh well it’s not like I have to send off paparazzi to get to my car or anything like that. As an artist you are always hoping that people are responding to the stories you’re telling so part of that comes with losing a bit of your anonymity so it’s just part of the gig. But I love it when people stop me and tell me about the show, or Magic Mike or another thing I’ve done or have a picture I like interacting with people and hearing about what they have to say.

Matt Bomer on… his dream love interest on White Collar
Gosh – so many, and we have been so spoilt on people we have had. It would have to be Angelina Jolie, she has that mysterious dynamic already going on, she’s sexy and would definitely have some secret of her own.

Matt Bomer on… his dream villain on White Collar
Villain? Oh goodness, why don’t we just make it a Brad and Angelina package. Although Christoph Waltz would make a brilliant baddie! This is going to happen!
