Lady Gaga it’s the guest editor of V Magazine’s V99, bringing to the current issue 16 different covers, dedicating each of the 16 to the creators, collectors and collaborators who have inspired her life and fame. One of the covers is dedicated to her friends from American Horror Story: Hotel, and the thematic shoot is made by Chadwick Tyler.
On the editorial, she talked about how the shoot was created:
So, what I did here was: my friend Chadwick photographed us and set us up inside a house that we rented and it was like a true American horror story. A slum of America. We didn’t pose or anything. We improv’d for, like, five hours. We just created characters and performed in the space. It was based partly on A Streetcar Named Desire, but loosely, and we each created our own space within the story. It was just a beautiful day and we took these beautiful photos. So, [most of the cast from American Horror Story: Hotel]: Kathy Bates, Wes Bentley, Chloë Sevigny, Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Angela Bassett, Matt Bomer, and Denis O’Hare. I just asked that everyone forget that the cameras were there, period, and just be there together. And that Chadwick was really documenting it while we were doing a live piece. We spent some time talking about it in our trailers outside, and when we went inside we kind of fell into it. It was amazing how it happened. Everybody reacted differently to it. I asked them all to improv on their day off. Not everyone was super stoked right away. I had to work them into it and explain it to them, and once we got in there, everybody came together and it happened so naturally and easily and these beautiful photos happened.
The issue will hit newstands next January 14 and you will find scans here as soon it’s available.

Matt Bomer is not a man of extremes. For instance, the guy who first made a name for himself on TV’s While Collar begins every day with 20 minutes of meditation. “It’s what I do to keep myself sane,” he says. “Everyone needs a reset button so you can start your day without anxiety. For some people it’s running, for some its going to the gym. For me it’s meditation”. Somewhat ironically, it’s extremes – coupled with leading-man good looks and more than a little talent – that the 38 year-old actor has become know for as of late. A little over a year ago Bomer lost 35 pounds, whittling himself down to a scant 130 for his Golden Globe-winning role as a newsman dying of AIDS in HBO’s The Normal Heart. “I was a mess, my hormones were out of wrack, I was starving,” he recalls. “My first focus was to get my body back in working order.” Soon, however, Bomer was not only in good working order but downright ripped to reprise his role as Ken in Magic Mike XXL. He credits his “accountability partners” on set – including co-star Channing Tatum, who routinely pushed him to get “my ass to the gym seven days a week” – for helping him build back up. Now the extremes in Bomer’s life include an abundance of opportunity: He’ll get his freak on in the new season of American Horror Story and later hit the Old West in Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven (2017).
Matt is on cover of Estilo DF magazine, on its September 11-17 issue. I have added print screens in our gallery, but you can also read the issue here.
