    Matt Bomer’s new film “B.O.O.”

    Written by Kelly

DreamWorks Animation is hard at work filling out the voice casts for two of its upcoming animated features with big name stars joining the ranks of both “B.O.O. (Bureau Of Otherworldly Operations)” and “Penguins of Madagascar.” In two separate scoops, The Wrap reports that Matt Bomer and Rashida Jones will join Seth Rogen and Melissa McCarthy in ‘B.O.O.’ while John Malkovich and Benedict Cumberbatch will become part of “Penguins of Madagascar,” an offshoot of the bizarrely popular “Madagascar” franchise. DreamWorks Animation has always had a history of casting insanely popular, of-the-moment stars in its animated features, and these decisions seem to reinforce that.

In ‘B.O.O.,’ Rogen (according to The Wrap), “stars as a new ghost named Jackson Moss who works as an agent at B.O.O., a top-secret government agency that protects humans from evil hauntings. When he and his partner Watts (McCarthy) uncover a plot to destroy B.O.O., they must use their skills to defeat the agency’s Most Wanted Haunter and his powerful ghost army, and save the world.” Sounds needlessly convoluted! According to the same report, “Jones will play Rogen’s ex-wife, while Bomer will play her new husband, who’s the perfect step-dad to Rogen’s son.”

The movie will be directed by Anthony Leonidis, whose previous film “Igor” set the world record for number of S&M jokes in a movie supposedly made for children, from a script by Tom Wheeler, who wrote the under-appreciated “Puss in Boots” for DreamWorks Animation. Bomer has roles coming up in both “A Winter’s Tale” and “A Normal Heart,” while it has recently been announced that Jones will be leaving “Parks and Recreation” in the middle of next season.

“The Penguins of Madagascar” is currently scheduled for a March 27th 2015 release date while “B.O.O. (Bureau of Otherworldly Operations)” spooks theaters nationwide on June 5th 2015.

Matt Bomer Attending “Superman: Unbound” World Premiere

    Written by Kelly

Matt Bomer, star of USA Network’s hit series White Collar, has joined the panel for the World Premiere of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment’s Superman: Unbound this Friday, March 29 at 6:00 p.m. as part of the WonderCon marquee evening event in the Anaheim Convention Center.

As the voice of Superman, Bomer will headline the post-screening panel discussion alongside Castle star Molly Quinn (the voice of Supergirl), producer/director James Tucker (Justice League), screenwriter Bob Goodman (Warehouse 13, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns) and eight-time Emmy Award-winning dialogue director Andrea Romano (Batman: The Dark Knight Returns). Moderator Gary Miereanu will guide the proceedings, offering glimpses into future DC Universe Animated Original Movies, and exclusive prizes for some lucky fans in attendance.

In Superman: Unbound, a destructive force is devastating planets across the galaxy – with Earth next in its sights – and even Superman may not be capable of halting the destruction alone. Based on the Geoff Johns/Gary Frank 2008 DC Comics release “Superman: Brainiac,” the film’s stellar voicecast also includes John Noble (Fringe, The Lord of the Rings films) as Brainiac, and Stana Katic (Castle) as Lois Lane. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Superman: Unbound will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, OnDemand and For Download on May 7, 2013.

Prior to the premiere, the Superman: Unbound panelists Quinn, Tucker, Goodman and Romano will sign WonderCon-exclusive mini-posters from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the DC Entertainment booth.

‘White Collar’ actor Matt Bomer designs for Gilt

    Written by Kelly

As White Collar protagonist Neal Caffrey, actor Matt Bomer is one well-dressed man. And now you can channel his style: Head to Gilt.com/Neal on Tuesday to shop the Caffrey Collection, a Bomer-designed selection of ties, bow ties and pocket squares by Alton Lane priced from $29 to $69.

The sale coincides with the return of the show at 10 p.m. ET on USA Network.

A portion of the sale proceeds will go to Project A.L.S.

Update! Here is another article, which features an interview with Matt.

In order to curate the collection, which involved selecting suit and shirting fabrics, Bomer channeled his character’s retro aesthetic. “Neal Caffrey’s look was the brain child of [White Collar creator] Jeff Eastin; he had this whole idea of the character having a fedora and his look being inspired by the Rat Pack so that’s what we worked off of for the pilot,” the actor said. “Every season, we create a board of looks I like and draw inspiration from everything from the Rat Pack to Cary Grant and Jack Kerouac. We did Harry Belafonte when we started getting into the summer months. [For the Caffrey Collection], we basically went through the wardrobe archives and found looks that we liked.”

The New Normal: Matt Bomer And Cast Preview ‘The Goldie Rush’

    Written by Kelly

“The New Normal” is back (Tuesday, January 8 at 9:30 p.m. EST on NBC), and the Ryan Murphy comedy is certainly starting 2013 the right way with guest appearances from “White Collar” star Matt Bomer and comedian Michael Hitchcock.

HuffPost TV was on set for the filming of the episode, titled “The Goldie Rush,” where Bomer and stars Andrew Rannells, Justin Bartha, Georgia King, NeNe Leakes and Bebe Wood previewed what viewers can expect, how they feel about the One Million Moms boycott, and which reality series helped one of them prepare for a scene. We also talked to Bomer about his role in Ryan Murphy and HBO’s recently announced film “The Normal Heart,” which will air in 2014.

    Spoilers ahead.

In “The Goldie Rush,” Bomer plays Monty, one of Bryan’s (Andrew Rannells’) former exes. “He used to be a party guy, very much didn’t want to settle down, didn’t want to have kids, and now he’s starting a new chapter in his life where he does want to settle down,” Bomer previewed. “He runs back into Bryan and David [Justin Bartha] and they have the life that he wants, so he sort of latches on to them and tries to enlist their help to try and find someone to be with and investigate the whole surrogacy process. Then he meets Goldie (Georgia King) and is really besotted with her and tries to infiltrate that ground and tries to enlist her to be his surrogate, and the guys aren’t really having that.”

“It’s a very funny episode,” Rannells promised. “Michael Hitchcock [Gary, the head of Bryan and David’s surrogacy firm], who is hilarious, he’s also in the episode this week, which is always a treat when he comes and joins us, and great to have Matt. Matt and I have known each other for a very long time from New York, so it’s nice to have him here.”

‘The New Normal’: Matt Bomer works out just fine, as Bryan’s ex

    Written by Kelly

In Tuesday’s episode of The New Normal, Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) are contemplating expanding their family, with Goldie’s help of course, but when they see that their single friend Gary (Michael Hitchcock) aspires to what they have, they try to help. White Collar‘s Matt Bomer guest-stars as Bryan’s ex, Monty, a legendary party boy the couple attempts to set up with Gary so that their lonely pal can start on the path to his own family. But don’t ever trust a guy named Monty! He has his own plans for procreation, and they just might include Goldie (Georgia King.)

Clearly he’s let himself go since he dated Bryan!

“The Goldie Rush” episode airs tomorrow night at 9:30 on NBC.

Matt Bomer Gets Animated for Superman: Unbound

    Written by Kelly

Matt Bomer is going up, up and away — into the world of animation. The mild-mannered White Collar star has landed the lead in the upcoming movie Superman: Unbound. Coming this spring to DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand, the film features an all-star cast, including Fringe’s John Noble as the world-destroying alien Brainiac and Castle costars Stana Katic and Molly Quinn as Superman’s girlfriend, Lois Lane, and cousin, Kara (aka Supergirl), respectively.

Based on a 2008 Action Comics storyline by Geoff Johns, Superman: Unbound — the latest in a series of movie adaptations from Warner Bros. Animation and DC Entertainment — pits the Man of Steel against Brainiac, an alien who attacks planets, shrinks one city small enough to fit in a bottle, then destroys the rest of the planet. “He’s the ultimate collector,” says director/supervising producer James Tucker (Batman: The Brave and the Bold). “He says what he’s doing is the name of science and ultimate knowledge, but really he just wants stuff and he doesn’t want anyone else to have access to it.”

In the film’s second story thread Superman struggles to relate to the women in his life. As his romance with Lois heats up (in his secret identity as Clark Kent), he worries that she could be in jeopardy if his enemies discover their connection. And his paternal instincts drive him to be overprotective of the teenage Kara — despite the fact that she has super abilities on par with his.

Bomer took on this new identity with ease. “He had a jovial energy that was a little counter to what we usually do with Superman,” Tucker says. “But he also had that decency in his voice that Superman really needs no matter which way you go with him.”
